Motorcycle rental terms and conditions

Motorcycles
Bikerent motorcycles are divided into several categories based on type, power and engine displacement. Rental conditions for different bike categories might vary.

Third Party Cover (TPC)
By law, this is compulsory and is included in your rental price, covering the driver or additional driver’s legal liability for bodily injury or property damage to others.
Also known as: Third Party Insurance, Motor Liability Insurance or Legal Liability Insurance. The insurance is valid on the territory of EU.

Rental rates
Daily Rental rates are based on a 24 hour “rental day” starting at the time of rental. The minimum charge is one day, plus mileage, if applicable. The renter will be charged for each hour and/or any part of an hour in excess of a rental day the renter keeps the Motorcycle, until the Motorcycle is returned, up to the applicable daily rate. Mileage charges, if applicable, will be the number of miles driven as determined by the odometer readings at the beginning and end of the rental. Late returns beyond 60 minute grace period may be subject to extra day charges, in addition to any other rental charges. If the renter fails to comply with the conditions applicable to the rate, including any geographic driving restrictions, a mileage charge, surcharge or other rates may apply.

Fuel
For your convenience your motorcycle will be supplied with a full tank of fuel. If You choose to return motorcycle with less than full tank, You will be charged 2,5 EUR per liter.

Payment conditions
The renter must present their Credit Card at the time of picking up the motorcycle.

A deposit for rental will be reserved on Your credit card for the rental period. Deposit amount varies depending on other rental conditions.

Deposit in cash or Debit Cards is not accepted.

Rental payment can be made by Credit or Debit card.

Drivers age
Driver must be 19 years or older.
Motorcycle power and engine displacement restrictions can be applied for all drivers younger than 25 years or holding a driver’s license for less than 2 years.

Driving Licence
Drivers must present a full valid driving license with a photo suitable for driving rental motorcycle which they have held for a minimum of one year. The driver’s license must meet the requirements Lithuanian Republic. Also personal ID card or a passport is required.

If the driver’s license is issued using any other letters than Latin, the International driver’s license must be supplied along with National driver’s license.

Additional drivers
Additional drivers can be added when picking up the motorcycle for EUR 7,00 EUR per driver per day. (Maximal charge 70,00 EUR per rental duration)

Additional equipment
Additional equipment (navigation systems, travel bags etc.) can be provided. Price depending on other rental conditions.

Additional charges
Renters are responsible for payment of any speeding, parking or other traffic related fines in addition to a fine administration fee of 35,00 EUR. In event of any traffic violation driver’s details will be provided to police.

Late return charge 18:00 till 23:00 is 25,00 EUR, 23:00 till 08:00 is 40,00 EUR.

Motorcycle documents must be returned together with motorcycle. 200 EUR will be charged when Renter fails to do so. Alternatively standard rental price can be charged per each day until documents are returned.

One way rentals
One way rentals are not available at the moment.

Restrictions
Rented motorcycle can be driven into all Baltic countries and Poland without restriction. For driving to other EU countries You must get Bikerent permission in advance.
It is strictly forbidden to drive rented motorcycle into Belarus, Russian federation or Ukraine.
Rented motorcycles may have location system installed.

Breakdown
Bikerent is taking all effort to ensure that all motorcycles are in perfect technical condition. However we can not accept liability for any defects or related costs that might occur during rental. In case of any problem please contact Bikerent immediately. It defect occurs outside Lithuanian territory it is renters responsibility to transport motorcycle back to Lithuania.

Insurance
Third Party Cover (TPC) by law is compulsory and is included in your rental price.
Other kinds of cover are not available at the moment.

Renters Liability
Loss or Damage to the motorcycle: The renter and any additional drivers are absolutely liable for any loss or damage to the rental motorcycle, even if someone else caused it or the cause is unknown, whether due to theft, fire, hail, flood, collision, vandalism, or any other cause, subject to limitations imposed by the law where the Motorcycle is rented. This liability will not exceed the full value of the Motorcycle, plus:

  1. Actual towing and storage charges;
  2. Loss of use;
  3. Diminution in value, regardless of whether the Motorcycle is repaired or not;
  4. All rental charges through the date you report the incident if not returnable or the return date, whichever is later;
  5. Any out-of-pocket expenses incurred by us as a result of the loss or damage to the Motorcycle;
  6. A reasonable administrative fee.

The motorcycle may not be used:
By other than an Authorized Driver;
To tow anything, carry persons or property for hire, in a race, test, contest, or for training activity;
For any illegal purposes, or in the commission of a crime;
While under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
To intentionally cause damage, or engage in willful, wanton or reckless misconduct;
If it was obtained by fraud or misrepresentation.
For purposes of the Rental Agreement, willful, wanton or reckless misconduct includes, but is not limited to: (i) the unauthorized use of the Motorcycle on other than regularly maintained hard surface roadways, private driveways or parking lots, which unauthorized use directly results in damage or loss to the Motorcycle; (ii) use of unauthorized equipment on or in the Motorcycle; (iii) aiding in the theft of the Motorcycle or failing to safeguard the keys and the Motorcycle and it is stolen or vandalized; (iv) returning the Motorcycle to a closed location and the Motorcycle is lost or damaged; (v) carrying passengers in excess of the number of seats; (vi) a citation for a serious traffic violation as defined under state law; (vii) failure to use helmets.
Any prohibited use of the motorcycle is a material breach of the rental agreement makes you responsible for all loss of or damage to the Motorcycle, third party claims, fines, penalties, attorney fees and costs.
We make no express or implied warranties of merchantability or fitness of the Motorcycle for any particular purpose. We shall not be liable to you for any indirect, special or consequential damages related directly or indirectly to any breach by us of this agreement, including any malfunction or fitness of the Motorcycle itself.
